Kim Cournoyer

Provisional Professional Counselor

MA, PPC

I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado Christian University in 2012 and went on to obtain my Master of Counseling degree in 2021.  I completed my counseling program internship at Behavioral Health Services in 2021 at Ivinson Memorial Hospital.  I went on to work in community mental health, providing individual and group counseling on a substance abuse team.

I specialize in addictions, substance use issues, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and trauma informed care with ages 13 and up.  I use a person-centered approach with my clients, and my therapeutic orientations include Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  I consider myself a “fellow traveler” with my clients as we walk through challenges and difficult moments together, to promote client self-awareness, growth and success in those areas that are most important to them.
